George's Diary
Update
Sunday, September 3, 2006
It’s the first of September and I’m writing to tell you how I feel. It is usually 4 or 5 months before I start to feel bad again. I got out of Club Med July 16th and now I’m already starting to feel bad. I told Amy that it has to get worse before it gets better. I have an appointment with my Dr., here in Maine, on Tuesday 09-05-06. I’ll keep you informed on what’s going on.

Saturday, August 19, 2006
August 19, 2006 was our annual co-ed softball tournament. It was held at Gray-New Gloucester High School. We had 8 teams play. We had a load of fun and played ball all day. I played on my work team which was Morrison & Sylvester we came in second place. I played every game. I was really tired by the end of the day. One of my fellow players asked if I needed a pinch runner, I said no, just O2. I would like to thank all those who played. Thank you for all your support and thank you to Tony Ganem for organizing this event for us. Job well done Tony. I hope to see every one next year.

Club Med Release
Saturday, July 15, 2006
July 15th
We had tickets to go to the Red Sox game on the 16th, so I was released 2 days early for good behavior.
When I left I was told not to stay in the direct sun at the game. It was really hot there. We were under cover so it wasn’t bad. I was really tired when I got home. I went back to work on Monday. I think this time I felt tired more when I got out, then the other times. Usually, I feel good for a while but this time I feel so/so. I guess its all part of the process. I noticed that I get tired easier now then it used to. I will have to feel worse before

The Dr. said if I had the test on day 1 it would have been less. I had 3 days of treatment at that time. I have a pic - line that is in my arm and travels up to my heart. That’s how I get my Meds. They usually goes in my right arm, but because of all the scare tissue I had to have it in the left. The scar tissue is from having all the antibiotics that go through the vain. The Dr’s

When we got home from New York, I took the advise of the transplant team and called my Dr. I was feeling really crappie, I felt like there was someone sitting on my chest, I was wheezing and I was short of breath, and just felt crappie. Dr. Z was on vacation and when his nurse emailed him, he told her to put me on an oral antibiotic. He had told her that I should try that for 10 days and if that didn’t work to call. He had also told her to tell me NO guest appearances. We all know that wasn't going to happen. After 10 days I wasn’t feeling any better so I called his nurse and she t

New Lungs For George was invited to attend the Stonehedge Country Music Festival in West Gray. They did a lot of different things to help us raise money. We got $2 from the sale of every tee shirt, there were 50/50 raffles, one of the campers made a picnic table and donated it to raffle off. Heather Corbett won the table. She was with the band and had no way to get it home so she gave it to us to auction off. It went for $100.00. They also had all the artists there sign one of the tee shirts to raffle off. Two of the artists were Buddy Jewell and The Bellamy Brothers. On Sunday July 2, 2006
