Pig Roast

On June 23rd we had a Pig Roast at Thompsons Apple Orchard. The Pig Roast was put on by Party Time USA. They did a wonderful job. Everyone said that the food was awesome, we had pig, coleslaw, potato salad, rolls, and corn on the cob and some wicked good strawberry shortcake. This Event was the kick off to the Blue Grass Festival. We raffled off 2 sets of 4 Sea Dog tickets donated to us by a fellow Firefighter. I met a lot of nice people and heard a lot of great music.

On June 20th and 21st Scott and I flew to New York to meet with the team. On Tuesday when we arrived and we were both very tired, so when we got to the hotel we took a nap. We got up and went to the support group meeting. Where we learned a lot from that meeting, we learned that when I get the call I will have 2 Hours to get to the Transplant Center. So we have our work cut out for us, we need to find someone to fly us to Manhattan. We also learned that when I get to the hospital I will get prepped for surgery. NESN's Boston Red Sox color analyst Jerry Remy, has a web site called The Remy Report, and he chooses a charity every week to highlight, and on the week of June 18th 2006, New Lungs For George was that charity.

Beer Wine Supper

On June 3rd we had a beer wine supper, at Spring Meadows Country Club in Gray. Gary Crocker a Maine humorist was the M/C. He was wicked funny. Our beer was from Shipyard Brewery in Portland, the wine came from Blacksmiths Winery in Casco. We had different auction items also, Toy Fire Trucks, 2 Prints, an Overnight Stay on Peaks Island, Amtrak Tickets, 3/2 Year Memberships to BJ’s Wholesale Club, and more.

It was 3:00pm on a Saturday afternoon and already there were a number of cars at St. Martins of Tours Catholic Church. Second Italian Dinner

We all headed to Millinocket for an Italian Night Dinner at St. Martin of Tour’s Catholic Church. The place was decorated with beautifully, the food was exceptional and the entertainment was great. There was a homemade pie sale, maple syrup raffle and a 50/50 drawing. Amy and I were interviewed by the Katahdin Press for an article. It was a great evening and we would like to thank everyone for all their hard work to make this evening a great success.
