On April 23rd, we all traveled to Millinocket for an Italian Dinner put on at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. It was a great evening filled with great homemade food, singing and fun.

TV news program 207

April 18th was my big TV debut! I went on the TV news program 207. We went on to promote an upcoming event at Southern Maine Community College. Sarai, a student and member of the Gray Fire Department and other students from the fire science program planned a firefighter combat challenge. It was a great day and fun was had by all.

On April 17th, Amy, Annie and I went to a car wash hosted by Otisfield Fire. This event was organized by a young lady firefighter who had heard our story and wanted to help me. We were greeted with open arms and felt like we have always known them.

Fan club holds car wash for George

OTISFIELD - A successful car wash was sponsored by members of George's Fan Club on April 17. George Carman, 39, is a New Gloucester firefighter living with cystic fibrosis. He needs to raise $300,000 to satisfy the costs not covered by insurance for his double lung transplant. The car wash was held at the Spurr's Corner fire barn.

Due to the volunteers and outpouring of support from residents and people driving by, the club was able to raise $1,000.

Lobster Bake Drawing

The day finally arrived for the choosing of the 50 person lobster bake. We all gathered at Morrison and Sylvester at noontime. We had one huge tote full of potential winners. Glen’s daughter had the honor of choosing Theresa McCluskey. She is a friend of mine and Amy’s. We called her immediately and told her the good news. She was very excited.
