I met with the transplant team today. I had a PFT (pulmonary function test) and it was at 28%. Which is where it runs when I am not admitted. I also did a bike stress test and that the results came back as a little worse than the last time. After all the tests and his examination of me I am still too healthy to be listed. He seemed like I was close to listing me but not quite yet. I have been in the hospital about every 2-3 months. Their concern is that I can’t maintain my lung function. When I get home from an admission my lung function run sin the high 30’s to low 40’s. As

Well the doctor came in and said that he had looked at my PFT (pulmonary function test) it was 28% and he wanted me to stay for the full 2 weeks. Then I am going home for a week of home IV’s. He is trying something new to see if it will keep me out of the hospital longer. I hope it works. I am going nuts and want to go home. This is the first time that I have done 3 full weeks of IV’s. I hope it work so I don’t have to go back in for a while. I’ll keep you posted. I go to NYC and meet with the team on June 22nd I will let you know how that turns out.

Well I have been in here for 8 days now. When I got here I took a breathing test and it was in the mid 30% range. So they started me on the usual coursed of IV’s and physical therapy and using my vest. Today they came in and did another pft and that one was 42%.
My lung function is usually high when I am admitted. So I am hoping to be paroled this week. I call it being paroled when they release me. I have not seen the doc yet today. I am hoping to be paroled on Friday. I’ll keep you posted.

I went to the Dr. today and had the usual checkup. After the exam he told me that my overall lung strength is less than when I left the hospital in March. My lungs function is still ok but my overall lung capacity is less. I asked what that meant, He asked me if I got tired out fast. I told him that I do. He said that what he meant, I would get tired just walking from the bedroom to the living room. I noticed that I need to wear my oxygen more than I was. He also told me to expect more hospitalizations than I was use to. I go back to NYC in June and I guess we will have to wait and see what he
