I had to call the Dr. again, My chest is starting to feel heavy and it’s getting hard to breathe and take a deep breath. So he wants to admit me so I can have a tune up and be ready for my trip to NYC next month. He does not want me traveling to NY when I am sick. It is too hard on my body and me to go tired. I’ll keep you posted when I get in there.

Well I started to feel crappie again so I call the Doc.He put me on a 2-week course of oral antibiotics. I think this time the infection set me back a lot. We bought a pulse ox to check my 02 levels. My 02 have been running around 92-93% while I was sick. Then when I walk or do something physical, it would run in the high 80’s. I hope it come back to where it was. I’m also doing my regular course of treatments along with the 2-weeks of Cipro. I’ll let you know how I feel when I’m done with the antibiotics.

Amy and I went to NY to meet with the transplant team. We met with the whole team, the pulmonary Dr, the surgeon, the Psychiatrist, and attended the support group meeting. It was a long 3 days. I had a stress test to see how strong my lungs are, and to see how strong the rest of my body is. I took the test last in 2005. This time when I took the test I was less time over all on the bike. Last time I didn’t have O2, this time I did and it was still worse than last time. They measure in watts and I did fewer watts this time than last. That was a real concern of theirs. We just came back from Florida. We went to Disney World. We have family down there, so we went with them. We were at Disney for 3 days and then went to our family’s house for 7 days. We wanted to go while I was still healthy enough to travel and see Annie have fun. We all had a blast we didn’t want to come home. Amy told me that she never heard my chest rattle the whole time we were there. I told her, while we where there that I felt awesome the whole time we were there. Well I was discharged 2 days early to go home. I was on home IV’s for the last 2 days.My Dr. tells me that this will probably be the norm. I will do a week in Club Med on IV’s and a week at home on IV’s. The insurance company wants us to stay a week. They said that, if I’m able to get up and walk on the treadmill that I can do that at home. They said if I’m able to get up and walk and get out of bed that, I can do that treatment at home. I’m not sure that I like the insurance company telling the Drs how to manage my care. I thought that the home IV’s

Well I made it into Club Med and have seen the Dr,I’m going to be here for 2 weeks. I will have the usual Treatment of IV’s, walking on the treadmill and breathing treatments. I walk on the treadmill everyday for 30 mins then I go back to my room for more treatments. It’s a good thing I have my Laptop in here so I can work on that. The days are long in here. We need something to pass time. I’ll keep you posted on my status later.
